To start with I made a chocolate cake. Chocolate Cake 1 stick butter 1 cup sugar 3 oz unsweetened chocolate (melt in the microwave 20 seconds or so, watch it!) 2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/4 cups milk 2 eggs 1 tsp baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 teaspoon baking soda. 1 tsp vanilla extract Preheat oven to 350 In mixer beat softened butter and add sugar while mixing butter. Separate the egg yolks from the egg whites To mixture add the yolks, chocolate and vanilla extract. Mix until it has a smooth consistency. In a separate bowl mix the flour, baking soda,baking powder and salt. Alternate adding the flour mixture and milk into the sugar/butter mixture until its gone. In another bowl beat the egg whites until they form stiff peaks, fold it into the cake batter. Pour into greased cake pans and bake 30 minutes, I always check 25 minutes in with a toothpick just so it doesn't burn!
