It seems like during the fall months we do a lot of cooking. I'm not sure if that is because the weather is cooling down, the holidays are approaching or a little of both. Price Match - Some grocery stores will have some terrific deals during the fall and holiday season. However, it might not be your grocery store of choice. Places like Wal-Mart offer … [Read more...]

If your like me, your favorite thing about Thanksgiving is the pumpkin pies!! I probably eat at least 2 whole pumpkin pies by myself over the holiday season. I smother them in cool whip and go to town. Yum!! So you can imagine how extremely excited I was when I met my husband and his mother made this pumpkin dessert. She still only makes it for holidays, but it has cake in it, which is my cue to make it any time of the year. Which I do, often! I will warn you it is soooo addicting!! Here is what you will need. (I will also warn you, I've been told I cook like a southerner (whatever that implies) but I do NOT measure or time anything!! So while I have the exact measurements for this recipe, yours may look a little different than my pictures, because I just throw in whatever I feel is close enough or the right amount.) 29oz can of pumpkin (I use (2) 15oz cans, a little extra pumpkin, who notices, lol) 12oz can of evap. milk 3 eggs 1 cup of sugar 1 tsp of … [Read more...]
