I love finding a great deal at Food Lion®. The past few months I’ve found that I do not even need a coupon to score big at Food Lion®. Right now, when you buy 10 participating General Mills products using your MVP card, you will get a $5 rebate to use on your next shopping trip. This sale runs from March 3rd – March 16th, 2014 and the rebate can be used between March 17th – March 30th. If you use coupons you will get even better savings.

If your family is like mine, we are always busy. Cooking a full-course homemade meal during the week is nearly impossible for us. When I first got married, Hamburger Helper® was the only thing I knew how to make. I did not visit the kitchen much as a child eager to learn to cook. When your family is busy like mine, what are your favorite quick and easy go-to meals?

When I visited the in-store sale, I purchased Hamburger Helper® meals and some Green Giant® veggies. I purchased 12 Green Giant® veggies, 12 =$15 – $5 rebate =$10, then used $0.60/3 x4 for a grand total of $7.80, including tax. It was a great way to stock up on veggies.

Prior to this sale, I purchased Hamburger Helper® and some Mueller’s® pasta that I had coupons for. I grabbed 10 Hamburger Helper® meals and 10 Mueller’s® pasta boxes and only paid $10.80 on that trip. If I had of waited a few more days for the #FoodLionSale, when I bought 10 participating General Mills products using my MVP card, I would have saved an additional $5.00 to use on my next shopping trip. These are just a few examples of how you can take advantage of this sale!

I started using Hamburger Helper® when I first got married in 1994. There are so many more Hamburger Helper® meals to choose from now, compared to back then. Basically all you have to do is brown your meat, add some milk, water, seasoning packet, and noodles. Then, just let it simmer for a few minutes and you have a complete meal ready, all within 20 minutes give or take. I whipped up this meal quickly last night.

Instead of making a bunch of appetizers for the college basketball games, I picked up some snacks for us to munch on while we watch. That way, everyone has a choice of something different and there’s less for me to clean up afterward. You can score some really great deals on snacks during the #FoodLionSale and also use coupons from SavingStar or my printable coupons page.

In the spirit of March basketball season, I’m hosting a giveaway where you can enter to win a $50.00 Gift Card to Food Lion®. A winner will be drawn on 3/28/14.
